National Runaway Switchboard Runaway Prevention Curriculum Online Survey

The National Runaway Switchboard (NRS), in collaboration with DePaul University, is currently updating our runaway prevention curriculum and would like your input. We have created a curriculum development process that involves gathering input from multiple sources, including research literature, existing programs/efforts targeted at runaway prevention, interviews and surveys with experts, and focus groups with a range of youth from different geographic areas (i.e., urban, suburban, and rural regions). We will synthesize all of this information into an innovative program that will address the core factors that impact young people who are considering running away, and then pilot test and refine our new curriculum.

We would like your help. Please click the link below and complete the survey. The survey is intended for those individuals who have provided services to those youth who are at risk for running away or have run away. The survey is completely anonymous and voluntary.

If you have any questions, please contact Natalie D. Smith, MA, of the National Runaway Switchboard, at 773.880.9860 x216 or Gary W. Harper, Ph.D., MPH, of DePaul University, at 773.325.2056.
