It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of the Alameda County Foster Youth Alliance (FYA) website.

www.fosteryouthalliance.org is designed with two purposes in mind: first to inform the public regarding FYA and its member agencies efforts on behalf of transitioning foster youth; secondly, the website is intended for use as a Community Resource. The comprehensive resource listings and research links are a useful tool for youth, service providers and anyone who cares about transitioning foster youth.

Maintaining an accurate and up to date resource section is multifaceted effort. One method of ensuring accuracy is input from users, when surfing these sections if you notice anything inactive, incorrect or obsolete feel free to let FYA know by sending an email to info@fosteryouthalliance.org.

www.fosteryouthalliance.org is the culmination of over six months of work on behalf of a talented team of professionals without whom the website would still be in production. I would like to thank them for their contributions:
  • Melinda Clemmons, without her unique combination of skills the pages would be empty. She is a talented writer, with enormous content knowledge and the ability to take the ball and run with it. Beyond that she was always a pleasure to work with.

  • David Daniels and Jonathan Kayes FYA’s team at T324 translated abstract ramblings into a beautiful web design, incorporating and improving on my ideas within the constraints of the FYA budget. They have been helpful and responsive throughout the entire process.

  • Cori Kesler at Kesler Creative Communication designed a beautiful logo which has given FYA a visual identity.

  • Glynis Laing, graduate student at the UC Berkeley School of Planning and former FYA intern, who began researching how to create and implement a good website last summer, and also wrote many of the member pages.

  • The FYA Board of Directors for their input, support and confidence.

  • And mostly the FYA membership without whom FYA would not be the vital organization that it is.

Please enjoy the website and share it with your colleagues and friends.
