Two Screenings of “Aging Out” a documentary about emancipating foster youth. November 14th and 17th in Oakland and San Francisco.

Navigating the transition from adolescence to adulthood is challenging for even the most privileged youth. For young adults in foster care making the transition to independent living is considerably more difficult as they “age out” of the foster care system and discover they are on their own. Aging Out is a documentary that follows former foster youth as they emancipate from care, the obstacles they confront and the obstacles they face and the resiliency they display.

Oakland: Sunday November 14th from 2-5 pm at the Parkway Theatre, 1834 Park Boulevard. Featuring an introduction by Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson

San Francisco: Wednesday, November 17th from 6:00 from 8:30 at The Delancey Street Theatre, 600 Embarcadero (between Brannan and Townsend).

There is no admission charge for either screening.

There will be a panel discussion featuring foster care alumni and light food and refreshments will be served at both events.
