| Silicon Valley Children’s Fund & Renaissance Scholars Program have partnered to provide an important professional development training – “Supporting Foster Youth Success with Financial Aid”
Assembly Bill 2463 requires that ALL California State Universities and Community Colleges provide outreach and support services to emancipated foster youth.
This important training opportunity will provide focused training on proven strategies for effective financial aid advising, information regarding special grants and resources available to foster youth and a wide array of college preparation support services for foster youth.
Unfortunately, less then 1% of foster youth who attend college graduate. The number one reason that foster youth do not succeed in college is the lack of correct information regarding college preparation and financial aid. With the right campus support systems in place, we can make a significant impact in helping foster youth achieve their higher educational goals!
