| FYA Professional Development Training: November 14 |

| The next FYA Professional Development Training will address the topic of: How to Recognize and Help Older Youth with Learning Disabilities/Accessing Special Education Services. This training will be held on Tuesday, November 14th, from 9:30 until 12:30 at ILSP, 2647 International Blvd, Suite 312, Oakland.

| FYA Membership Meeting: November 17 |

| The next FYA Membership Meeting will be held Friday, November 17th, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the ILSP office, 2647 International Blvd., Suite 312, Oakland.
Immediately following the general meeting will be a meeting of the FYA Walk ’07 Committee at 11:45. Please join us in planning the FYA Walk scheduled for October 6, 2007.

| Job Opening for Family Developer at Casey Family Programs |

Casey Family Programs, a national operating foundation that provides and improves – and ultimately prevents the need for foster care, is seeking a warm, friendly, and clinically savvy social worker to work with kinship families and prospective foster families who want to provide nurturing and permanent homes for vulnerable children..
The Family Developer will recruit and evaluate prospective families, form supportive relationships with foster families and help resolve barriers to successful placements of children. Responsibilities also include representing the agency in a public relations capacity, giving presentations within the community to promote CFP mission and to create awareness of the critical need for families. The Family Developer will also prepare home studies and family assessments, maintain records and documentation, provide on-going support to the families, and facilitate trainings.
Requirements include a MSW and 2 years of relevant experience in foster care service. Specific experience in successful recruitment and retention of families, family systems work and working successfully and respectfully within a multicultural environment is strongly desired. Candidates must have the ability to network and form relationships with local communities of color and local child placement agencies so that collaboration efforts can be maximized.
