Next FYA Membership Meeting: November 17th
 
The next FYA Membership Meeting is scheduled for Friday November 17th from 9:30 until 11:30 at the Alameda County ILSP Office, 2647 International Blvd, Suite 312 in Oakland.
 
Emancipation Support Circle: October 28th
 
The next Emancipation Support Circle will be held on Saturday, October 28th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm. at the CASA Offices, 1000 San Leandro Blvd., Suite 300, San Leandro.

A light brunch/lunch will be provided thanks to Oakland RJOY. If you need transportation, please contact Kathy Siegel at 510-268-7490.

California Community College Fees Dropping

YOUNG WORKER LEADERSHIP ACADEMIES
 
The University of California at Los Angeles and Berkeley, along with the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers Compensation, are sponsoring two 3-day all-expense-paid Young Worker Leadership Academies: January 18-20, 2007 (Berkeley) and February 8-10, 2007 (Los Angeles). The California Center for Civic Participation, an expert in the area of youth development and empowerment, will help facilitate the Academies. These Academies offer a unique opportunity for young adults to become leaders and advocates for teen labor rights and health and safety.

Screening Of Angel Rodriguez Cancelled
 
The screening of the HBO film "Angel Rodriguez" scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Grand Lake Theater has been cancelled.
