| CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY INSTITUTE Surveys |
|
| |
| The Children's Advocacy Institute (CAI) has undertaken a project, funded by The California Wellness Foundation, aimed at studying the challenges faced by foster youth emancipating from the foster care system, and examining the programs and services currently offered to these young people. CAI will study how the current system could be expanded or improved to better serve former foster youth in the critical years following their exit from the system. CAI's goal is to vastly improve outcomes for youth who age out of California's foster care system. To that end, CAI will use the information gathered through survey and other research tools to engage in a vigorous public education campaign aimed at legislators, the public, and most importantly, current and former foster youth.
If you are a current or former foster youth, or if you are an adult who provides services to that population (e.g., social worker, dependency attorney, foster parent, transitional living provider, etc.), you are encouraged to complete the CAI survey about your experiences with the current transitional system and services, and your thoughts on how best to craft an expanded system. Links to the two surveys are as follows:
>> Survey for current and former foster youth: Please click here.
>> Survey for adults providing foster youth services: Please click here.
The Children’s Advocacy Institute is a nonpartisan academic, research, and advocacy center representing the interests of California’s children. It is a part of the University of San Diego School of Law and convenes the Children’s Advocates’ Roundtable in Sacramento. CAI also trains child advocates and runs a clinic representing foster children in juvenile dependency court.
