FYA Professional Development Training: September 12
 
The next FYA Professional Development Training will focus on “Helping Youth Prevent Pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Diseases/Talking to Youth about Human Sexuality” This training will be held on Tuesday, September 12th, from 9:30 to 12:30 at the ILSP Office, 2647 International Blvd., Suite 312, Oakland.

Mental Health Services Act RFP
 
Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services (BHCS) is releasing a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of services as described in Alameda County's MHSA Community Services and Supports plan:

RFP No. MHSA FSP-1: Homeless Outreach & Stabilization Team (HOST)

HOST is a full-service partnership targeting unserved and under-served homeless adults (ages 18-59) with serious mental illness in the north and central regions of the County (including the cities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont, Oakland, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Castro Valley, Hayward and the Unincorporated Areas.)

Community-Based Organizations and Public or Private, For-Profit or Non-Profit Organizations and collaborations of such organizations with experience providing mental health services to the target population are encouraged to submit a proposal.

RFPs for Outreach & Engagement/System Development services will be released as available through September 2006.

Job Opening at Out of Home Youth Advocacy Council
 
The Out of Home Youth Advocacy Council (OHYAC) is a coalition of individuals and organizations working to improve services and outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and families involved in the California foster care system. OHYAC is a collaborative project of Family Builders by Adoption, the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Legal Services for Children. OHYAC has over 50 members from throughout the 5 Bay Area counties, representing a diverse array of organizations and agencies that serve or advocate for youth and families, including the California Youth Connection, the Bay Area Academy, California CASA, legal organizations, California Social Work Education Center, Bay Area county child welfare departments, individual judges and lawyers, foster family agencies, and the Administrative Office of the Courts, Center for Families, Children & the Courts.

OHYAC is seeking a part-time, temporary administrative assistant to help coordinate training and resource logistics. The position will be housed at Legal Services for Children.www.lsc-sf.org
