FYA Brown Bag Training for Management Staff: TODAY
 
Please bring your lunch and join us today from 12:30-2:30 for a Brown Bag Training for Management Staff on the topic of “Termination Best Practices.” This training will be held at Ross House, the conference room of Casey Family Programs located at 491 Ninth Street in Oakland, near the 12th Street Bart station.

This training is a joint project of FYA, Seneca Center, and Chabot FKCE.

 
FYA Membership Meeting: July 21
 

The next FYA Membership Meeting will be held on Friday, July 21st, from 9:30-11:30 at the ILSP Office located at 2647 International Blvd., Suite 312, Oakland.

We will be voting on board confirmations and receiving updates on the state budget and legislation.

 
Emancipation Support Circle
 
The newly formed Emancipation Support Group is off to a great start and seeking more youth to become involved in this valuable endeavor. Come to the next meeting on Wednesday, July 12 and/or the following meeting on Saturday, July 22nd.

This is an emancipation present that will last all year and into the future!
TEAM WITH SUCCESSFULLY EMANCIPATED FORMER FOSTER YOUTH, FELLOW GRADUATES AND ADULT SUPPORTERS FOR:
1. Practical information and transitional resources;
2. Fun, games, celebration and friendship;
3. Emotional Support.

MEETINGS WILL BE HELD TWICE MONTHLY EVERY
2nd Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
3rd or 4th Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Come once or twice a month! Come as you are!!
Come when you can!!! Just come and join the fun!!!!

SUPPORT CIRCLE DATES FROM JULY THROUGH SEPTEMBER WILL BE:
Wednesday July 12, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 22nd, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, August 9th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 26th, 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 13th, and Saturday September 16th (3rd Saturday this month) from 11:30 pm. To 1:30 p.m.

The County of Alameda Library is currently hiring for the position of Library Page at all county library locations. Hourly salary is $14.98-$15.69. These are permanent part-time positions.

. Center for Independent Living Youth Services provides counseling, workshops and support groups to disabled youth (ages 14 to 22), their parents and their families.
 
Leaderspring Extends Deadline For FELLOWSHIP
 
Because of an influx of inquiries and requests for applications, Leaderspring is extending the East Bay Fellowship application deadline by two weeks.

Applications will now be due Friday, July 21st , at 5:00 p.m.

The Class of 2008 East Bay Fellowship will be awarded to fourteen select leaders at no cost to them or their agencies. Fellows will continue to lead their nonprofits during the fellowship, which will begin in October 2006 and conclude in September 2008. Applications are due July 21, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. Please note that applications will be distributed following a preliminary screening to determine eligibility.
