FYA Walk Around Lake Merritt and Resource Fair

| Come out to Lake Merritt on Saturday, May 20th, for the FYA Walk and Resource Fair! Enjoy a brisk walk around the lake, listen to great music, and browse the Resource Fair. Click here to register for this great event. There will also be on site registration. The goal of the walk is to raise awareness about the needs of youth transitioning from foster care and to raise funds for the work of the alliance.
Registered walkers will receive a beautiful t-shirt. An iPod Shuffle will go to the walker bringing in the highest contribution.
Free registration for all current and former foster youth up to age 24. If you would like to bring a group of youth, they do not need to register individually. Send an email to mclemmons@fosteryouthalliance.org with the number of youth you are bringing and their t-shirt sizes.

| The Assembly Select Committee on Foster Care is holding a public hearing on Emancipation today in San Francisco. Youth and Adults come and have your voices heard by the law-makers from Sacramento. Let’s show the State Officials and the public that we care about what happens to youth when they leave foster care and that we have ideas to improve the system.
Date and Time: May 12, 2006 from 1pm-4pm.
Location: San Francisco California State Building, Milton Marks Auditorium (located in the basement) on 455 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, California.
